Regular leather cases for your iPad 2
These regular cases are designed for casual users, which need a sturdy, light, and, if possible, good looking case for their iPad 2. These cases don’t cost very much in comparison with premium cases, but still they offer enough features to please most users. Also, some of these cases are not made completely out of leather, as 100% leather cases tend to be pretty expensive.
Zagg LeatherSkin for iPad 2
Zagg is one of the best manufacturers for accessories, and especially for Apple products. This leather skin fits perfectly over the iPad 2, adding very little to the size and weight of your tablet. This is more of a style accessory, to be honest, as you can customize it as you see fit, with a variety of patterns and colors- you can do this on Zagg’s website. Of course, you have cutouts for all ports and buttons and for the camera.

The not yet available Zagg Skin adds very little weight and thickness to your iPad 2.
CaseCrown Bold Standby case- $25.21
This case is a completely different story. It’s sturdy, a little bulky and doesn’t have the same stylish finish you get on the Zagg LeatherSkin. The case can perfectly accommodate the slate and can even double as a stand in landscape mode. The case closes thanks to a magnetic flap that keeps the tablet secured inside. Also, when you slide it in, the slate automatically goes to sleep and wakes up when you take it out. Of course, the case comes with cutouts for all ports and for the camera- more details and a video review via this link.

CaseCrowm Bold case for the iPad 2
Acase slim leather folio- $27.95
This case is pretty similar to the one from CaseCrown, as it even has the same black finish on the outside. One of the important differences between the two is that the one from Acase supports more viewing angles when in stand mode, while the Bold Standby only supports one. The outside of the case is made from Litchi Grain Mark Leather, which is resistant and offers a decent grip (think matte, but for cases), while the interior is microfiber, which protects the screen from getting scratched. The case doubles as a stand with multiple viewing angles
Toblino multi-angle iPad 2 case- 39.95
The case has a black leather exterior, while the inside has a microfiber finish- a standard setup for a decent case these days. When doubling as a stand, the device offers two viewing angles, both in landscape mode. One is more for typing, while the other seems more fit for viewing videos or taking video calls. The case, which is available via this link, has great stitching and the exterior feels very good to hold. This is why it’s more expensive- it offers a more classy experience than other cases.

This Toblino case is a tad more expensive, but delivers better protection and design
AYL 9-in-1 stand case- $29
This 9 in 1 case is made from real leather, having that old fashioned, leather covered book like feel. But interesting things are happening on the inside as well. The part that supports the tablet, on the inside, can rotate 360 degrees, while the design of the case also allows for 9 different viewing angles. This is more than many dedicated stands have to offer and it’s great if you intend to use the tablet for reading, writing, watching videos. Also, the inside part of the case can be detached and can be used as a secondary protective case. I think this is a great deal, considering the many features the case has and the great build quality. More info and pics via this link.

You get two cases in one. Oh, and no less than 9 viewing angles
RooCASE zipped leather portfolio- $43.64
This is a more business oriented case and this is clearly reflected in the price. The case has a double zipped enclosure, while the inner sleeve, the one holding the tablet, can be detached and used independently. The case has a single viewing angle, at 45 degrees, which is just perfect for video presentations or viewing pie charts. The case has a few pockets on the interior for keeping business cards and an elastic loop for a pen or stylus. The RooCASE zipped leather portfolio available via this link, comes in a variety of colors, including Grey, Magenta, Pink and Red.

RooCASE delivers another great business oriented case
Premium iPad 2 covers
You pay more, you get more. It’s also the case with these couple of premium covers for your iPad 2. These are not necessarily tougher than those costing 25 bucks less, but they sure add style to your tablet, as the finish and materials are top notch.
Stylish Twelve South BookBook cover- $69.99
This case, which can accommodate both the iPad or iPad 2, is hand crafted and works perfectly as a stand, too. The outside material is real leather, with a vintage/old feel, and it looks and feels like holding an old book, one of those luxury editions British royalty have in their libraries in costume dramas.
The inside has a lined, chocolate colored finish which protects the display, while the very tough build will definitely protect the slate against shocks. It’s clearly a big case and doesn’t care about minimalism and light weight; even the case in itself, without holding a tablet, is a little work of art. This fits perfectly with my mansion
Piel Frama Premium leather envelope- from $79.99
This is more of a style statement than anything else, really. This ultra thin leather envelope is hand crafted by Spanish artisans and is made from locally provided materials, with no impact on the environment. The interior has a German ABS frame and stitching, which will provide unexpected protection for a case this thin. Also, the envelope comes with additional pockets for business cards and other documents, as well as cut outs for all ports and buttons. This case, manufactured by world renowned company Piel Frama, is available in a multitude of colors, which you can check out via this link.

Last, but not least…
Kensington KeyFolio case with Bluetooth Keyboard- $69.99
The cases we’ve shown you until now were kind of straightforward- they try to offer great protection, decent design and some additional features. But neither is the hybrid that this Kensington case is. On the outside, it has a durable synthetic leather finish, with cutouts for all ports. On the inside, however, you also get a Bluetooth keyboard, which comes with iPad specific keys and commands. The keyboard can go for a couple of weeks on a single charge and is a great addition for when you need to write long emails or something. More info about availability and shipping via this link.

The keyboard beats a touchscreen when it comes to writing emails and working with documents
Final thoughts
Cases built for the iPad 2 are really trying to stay out of the way as much as possible. I mean, the iPad 2 is a great device and a case is there to offer it protection and sometimes a little style, in the case of the two premium, expensive Stylish Twelve South BookBook and Piel Frama cases. All cases are designed to let you enjoy the functions and features of the iPad 2 immediately and don’t stuff unnecessary accessories in the cases- except the Kensington folio, that has a keyboard, but that’s a highly needed add on for those using the slate for work.
The cases vary in price and thus in quality, but we managed to gather the best currently available; even the cheapest of the bunch, namely the CaseCrown case offers good protection for your iPad 2. Of course, those more expensive are better suited to protect your slate and were built also with style in mind.
